Foodhi Bánh Mì & Platonist Salads

Let’s talk about salads. We’ve added both the Foodhi Bánh Mì and the Platonist Salad to the menu. Remember when Cleveland restaurants thought a salad was just iceberg lettuce with a scoop of hummus scraped from a plastic tub they bought at Restaurant Depot? (I actually witnessed this being “prepared” once. I was visibly shaken.) Somehow, places like this still exist—which is wild, considering Cleveland likes to call itself a foodie town. Are we, though? I guess that depends on whether you're into restaurant groups churning out “gourmet” burgers and tacos designed to soak up high-margin drinks. Wouldn’t it be nice if we moved past this adolescent “gourmet fast food” phase into something more nuanced, interesting, and—dare I say—delicious? I bring this up because ordering a salad is often just... sad. Too many chefs throw them together with zero thought. It’s a mere afterthought, sitting somberly beside a bacon burger or whatever other played-out main dish is headlining the menu. Give me a salad I actually want to eat—not because I feel bloated, not because I suddenly realized I haven’t had anything green in days, but because it’s packed with flavor and straight-up delicious. That’s how I approach salads. For me, it’s all about balance: fresh greens paired with flavor bombs like pickled veggies, locally made tofu feta, olives, smoky coconut flakes, and plenty more. A good salad is a balancing act—it needs sweet and savory, punchy and crunchy. Damn it, it needs to be a good meal. Sure, it’s healthier, but it doesn’t have to taste like it’s trying to be. So yeah, our salads start with greens (as salads often do), but they don’t stop there. They’re loaded with bold, satisfying flavors that make them worth ordering—not just settling for. Okay, I strayed a little there. I’ve eaten too many poorly constructed “vegan” options in Cleveland, and I think it caught up to me. Try our salads. They’re pretty dope.
